ABOUT AX® Materials

AX® Materials was founded in 2010 to pioneer material technologies for gloves. Historically the glove industry had relied on materials from footwear or other markets to supply their needs.

 

Our Story

 
 

AX® Materials set out to raise the bar by developing materials specifically engineered for gloves, prioritizing dexterity, durability, grip, and a comfortable hand feel. 

Our first launch was AX® Suede Original, which set the industry standard for comfort, dexterity, high abrasion resistance, and tear strength. Since then, our collection has expanded to include synthetic grain leather replacements, mesh textiles, recycled alternatives, and a range of touchscreen-compatible materials.  

AX® Materials is now used on various products outside of gloves, including apparel and bags, and is trusted by over 150 brands to bring their gear to the next level of performance.

    Matt has been working in synthetic and textile material technologies for 15+ years with a focus on footwear and gloves. He is passionate about constant innovation in materials and creating products that perform better for customers with a reduced environmental impact. Based in New Hampshire, Matt is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys putting any product using AX® Materials to the test.
