Synthetic Leather Performance Technology

Fiber

Engineered polyester

Engineered polyester: the workhorse of fibers.

AX® Materials use a synthetic polyester construction to create thin, strong, and comfortable glove materials.

These polyester fibers work harder and last longer, while being more breathable and flexible than natural suedes and leathers.

AX® Materials

  • Built specifically for gloves

  • Continuous filament fiber

  • Polyester base

  • Offers high dexterity

  • Soft & pliable

  • Better fit

  • Vegan leather

  • No pilling

  • High abrasion

‘Standard’ Glove Materials

  • Adapted from footwear

  • Short staple fibers

  • Limited breathability

  • Thickness variance

  • Stiff & boardy

  • Bunching in palms

  • Higher pilling

  • Lower abrasion

Breathability

AX® Materials are built using a knit polyester construction with minimal Polyurethane content, allowing greater breathability compared to leather and other glove materials, both synthetic and natural leather.

This allows for heat and sweat to easily escape the glove palm, and provides great moisture wicking for a dry grip.

AX® Suede Filament Fiber Construction

AX® Suede

Filament Fiber Construction

  • PU Free

  • Twice as breathable

  • Faster drying times

  • Superior moisture management

  • Minimize palm sweat

Competitor Material

Staple Fiber Construction

  • PU limits breathability

  • Slower dry times

  • Poor moisture management

  • Sweaty palms

Durability

Thinner, Stronger & More Breathable.

Built to outperform all other materials, the high abrasion options from AX® Materials are proven to get the job done, no matter the conditions.

By using specialty high-density yarns and combining with other ‘work-horse fibers’ in a custom knitting process, we create the optimal balance of strength, softness, and dexterity.

AX® Suede 10W 0.8mm Taber Cycle Testing

(ASTM D 3884, 1kg, H-22 Wheel)

10W shows very little wear even after 4,000 cycles. Standard palm suedes don’t make it past 1,000 cycles.

InstaChill™ Cooling

InstaChill™ uses a multi-functional compound called Xylitol. Naturally derived from the Birch Wood Tree, Xylitol inhibits the attachment of bacteria, aids in moisture wicking and when activated, converts moisture into a cooling effect. You’re probably most familiar with this effect in mint chewing gum.

When applied to AX® Materials, the moisture-wicking fibers pull perspiration away from the body and InstaChill converts that moisture, releasing a surge of cold. The result is an increase in coolness and better overall comfort. This treatment can be applied to any AX® Bolt textile and select suedes.

After 20 washes treatment is still 50% effective.

Grip & High Dexterity

Your hands work hard and the right grip can help ease the burden. Our AX® grip materials incorporate polyurethane and silicone chemistries in various coating  and embossing processes, providing superior grip and protection for any task at hand.

AX® Materials grip gives your glove palm a second-skin feel that keeps you connected and responsive in any condition.
